Coleman McDonough came to North Branch Area High School in the fall of 2010. Prior to being named NBAHS principal, he spent 15 years with the Saint Paul Public schools serving as a social studies teacher, coach (football, basketball, baseball, softball) assistant principal, and principal.
McDonough grew up in St. Paul, attending Cretin High School and St. John's University where he played football and graduated in 1991 with a degree in government. Before beginning his career in education he spent time living in Europe and playing semi-pro football for the Craigavon Cowboys in Belfast, Ireland.
Coleman received his Masters degree in Educational Administration from St.Mary's University in 2000 and his Principal Licensure in 2001; In 2010 he was selected as the Minnesota Middle School Principal of the Year.
Married to his wife Jayme in 1997, McDonough and his family came to North Branch in 2002; McDonough has 3 children, daughters Jalen, Peyton and son Quinn.
